Professional Practice: Setting up my Online Presence

To start setting up my online presence in the games design and 3D design community, I have decided to create a new email address dedicated to any career related contacts. I decided to use ‘gmail’ as my email domain because I found that many professionals that don’t have their own custom email domain, usually use ‘gmail’ as it is a professional looking address. I decided to keep my address simple but professional, so people who saw it, knew what it was for. “” is the address I went with, with 3D at the end because it is my chosen profession.

Once my email address was sorted and I was happy with it, I was able to create my professional twitter account, where again I can use for professional use only. To follow fellow games design and 3D design professionals.

As I used a gmail address, it automatically connects to a YouTube account for that email, which is a site I wish to use to put any videos on of my work or any tutorials I may produce.

Finally, I created my portfolio using as I thought this website had the more simple and best looking templates to showcase my work. I didn’t want anything too fancy, I wanted it to be simple as I wanted my work to stand and not the aesthetics of my portfolio website.
