Client Project: Undertaker Building

As I have been researching this area, I found it only best that I model the building and related assets and see what I can produce. The undertakers building is just a generic looking structure, the sign that will be on the front is the only sign that it’s an undertaker and also the coffins and tombstones.

As the area is mainly woodland, I have textured the building in wood, trying not to use the same textures everywhere.

Here are some rendered shots of the building. I haven’t made it accessible as the outside of the building can be used to show what it is. With possibly putting a work bench and tools outside to show that they work outside the building as there isn’t much room inside.

Overall I am pleased with the overall look of the building. Although Unreal Engine 4 can handle quite high poly models, I still wanted to try and keep the buildings poly count low (1k) and I think it looks detailed enough with the amount of polys it has. Looking back at the building, I think the only thing I would alter is the roof as it looks very flat, so I would maybe add a different texture or model a more detailed roof. The boardwalk and the front overhang have individual planks on them, I have done this to add a great deal more detail to the front, as I wasn’t happy with the textured version.
