Paragon Project: Suitcase’s and Luggage Carts

For our Paragon Station interactive environment project, we have gathered lots of research for the various parts of our environment and now we’re creating and fleshing out station itself, but firstly while we waited for the block out of the level to be completed; we chose an asset to model and texture to be put into the final level. I chose to create suitcases and luggage carts, these assets could be used for various parts of the environment:

Suitcases: Could be placed in a pile near the train, next to passengers, on top of luggage carts etc.

Luggage Carts: Could be carrying sacks and other small assets, could be used for vendors to sell goods, also could be pulled by a horse etc.

There are many ways in which assets can be used in one way or another.

Here are the final versions of the models in a scene together.

The suitcases I have made are based on old 19th century ones you can see from these images below, I wanted the textures to be true and rather dirty like they have been used for a long time and the handle and locks to look sturdy and I feel I have done that with all the assets I created.

I modeled a small and a large luggage cart to be used around the level, both being textures in wood, with very fine and grungy looking dirt on them to make them look old and tattered. I am very pleased with how all these came out like and I hope to see them placed around the environment when we start to populate it with assets.

Here are some images I used to gain a perspective and idea from for the luggage carts.
